Consumer Price Index (CPI) April 2020

 

The monthly change, April 2020 compared to March 2020, was an increase of 2.79 percent. This is compared to a monthly increase of 2.12 percent in the previous month of March 2020. The most significant monthly price increases were Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (+4.82%) and Health (+5.70). The increase in Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages was mainly the result of higher prices of Food (+4.81%). Most of the upwards contribution came from prices of Oils and fats (+41.15%), Vegetables (+27.16%), and Fruits (+5.18%) (Chart 2).

Change In The Price Indices For April 2020

The All Groups CPI decreased 4.28 percent over the twelve months to April 2020 compared to 5.20 percent over the twelve months to March 2020.
