The monthly change, May 2019 compared to April 2019, was a decrease of 1.67 percent. This is compared to a monthly increase of 3.70 percent in the previous month of April 2019.The most significant monthly price increases were Clothing and Footwear (+7.48%). This was mainly due to increases in prices of garments for Children (+26.58%) due to Eid-ul Fitri holiday celebrations.

Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages increased 7.16 percent over the 12-months to May 2019. The increase was mainly the result of higher prices of Foods and vegetables. Most of upwards contribution came from prices of Fruits (+30.62%) and Foods (+7.19%).
