Consumer Price Index (CPI) May 2020

 

The monthly change, May 2020 compared to April 2020, was a decrease of 1.63 percent. This is compared to a monthly increase of 2.79 percent in the previous month of April 2020. The most significant monthly price increases were Clothing and Footwear (+13.84%) and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (+1.43%). The increase for Clothing and Footwear was mainly due to increases in prices of garments (+12.59%), Shoes and other footwear (+18.63) due to Eid-ul Fitri holiday celebrations.

The rate of inflation for May 2020 is the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) over the twelve-month period, from May 2019 to May 2020.
